Very good food, and quick bite for lunch, very fast service
So yummy! The stromboli is out of this world. Tons of flavor, great dough and it's huuuge! We also ordered the scampi fries were which were fantastic but very spicy and def make for some smelly burps later on. It's pretty small with only a few tables outside but it's definitely worth trying. I would come back here in a heartbeat!Mel's Market
Mels market is more or less a grab and go sandwhich place located at the lower level of the Safeco Plaza building. They have 2 stations, one for salads and one for soups and sandwhiches. The sandwiches will run you between $6 and $8.50 depending on what you get. I am a fan of their chicken salad sandwich. The soups start at around $4 and go up to $6. I would recommend the beef stew if they have it. During the daytime the sandwich station serves breakfast. In addition to the two stations they have a large selection of cold drink and then some additional side items like bags of chips, popcorn and individually wrapped cookies. This is hower not a destination restaurant since there is limited seating and absolutely nowhere to park.
Fast, fresh deli serving custom salads, sandwiches and protein bowls. Very affordable lunch specials and chefs always offer interesting options. Great selection of drinks and sides as well!
Really friendly staff. Good selectiction of items to choose from.Overall very satisfied with everyone that has helped me here and would recommend eating some delicious food :)
A good spot for a quick breakfast or lunch, they’re super friendly and quite busy. Slightly disappointed that I got a fish taco power bowl for lunch today and got back to class to find they forgot the fish!! Ha, otherwise a decent if expensive quinoa bowl! +1 star for the excellent response, no worries on the gift card but thank you for the kind sentiment!
Still a great place to grab a quick bite. They have pre-made salads and sandwiches and hot food. Also good breakfast choices. And prices are good.
Got the Country Salad and the Gobbler Sandwich. The salad was good but had spinach instead of romaine and though the sandwich tasted good, the meat portion was TINY, probably 2 oz. ! Should have gotten "double meat" as someone recommended, which would have made it a "regular" portion
I've been to Mel's before and it was good but it depends on the server. I ordered a spinach strawberry salad today and the server inexplicably dumped the spinach on top of the bitter greens before putting the whole mess in my bowl. I stopped her and said there were a bunch of greens in the bowl, and she said "it's all the same". I said, "Actually, it's not," so she picked out a few greens and made my salad anyway. As she was plating it, I noticed and said, "there are still some greens in the salad," and she said. I can make you another salad; the customer's always right with a BIG condescending smile. I walked away, folks.
Love Mels! They hustle to get you through. Food is good.
Had the BLT made to order and absolutely loved it.
Had to beg then for extra chicken. Bc they give you 1 scoop of maybe 2oz. Will not go back
Super tasty, quick, loyalty rewards, and reasonably priced (especially for DT Seattle). I would post a photo but i already ate it!
Just came fro interview and really impressed all around GREAT.
This place is amazing!! I wanted a quick protein-filled breakfast and this place delivered! It's the Chipotle experience of breakfast where you can customize exactly what you want. Then grab a drink or snack from the other sections in the market, pay, and eat in their adorable little food court with perfect seating and a killer view! Very New York, very efficient. Also, the people were the kindest and totally made my day :)
Almost couldn't find it (Google maps showing it on 4th/Madison rather than 3rd), but glad I did. Fish taco power bowl was awesome! Staff were nice too.
I Love Mel's Market! This place is great and is one of my default lunch spot in awesome downtown Seattle (bias yes!). 1st they have awesome menus with real food that is nutritious without weighing you down. They have made to order salads, sandwiches and these incredible gluten free quinoa powerbowels. Oh Yeah. They also make you sandwiches to order and have two homemade soups and chill con carne. All the menus have the ingredients clearly marked and they have a lot of gluten free options if that is what you are looking for. They have great system of serving a huge amount of people without it taking a long time. The owner Pam is the nicest person and keeps the place running smoothly. The staff there are extremely polite and friendly and when you go through checkout line the cashiers are always smiling and happy. They also have a customer loyalty program and you earn point with purchases that you can use as cash discounts on future purchases.
Love this place. Quick and friendly service as well as great prices.
Ask for Lonnie. Great food and cool dude!
I wish I'd have stopped in for breakfast, I wound up getting a sandwich there at lunch. It was pretty good, and I like to choices of spreads you can get but otherwise it's a pretty basic sandwich, not anything grilled or with fresh bread or anything. It cost about 10$ for a pretty basic sandwich, that's a little steep.Edit: returned recently for the chicken salad sandwich to see if it was any better. My friend got the egg salad. They were both incredibly bland. Changed the score. NOT worth the price
I'll be moving into the building soon, so thought I'd give Mel's a try. This demanding Northeasterner was blown away by the clam chowder. Look forward to trying the sammich counter.
I love this place! Other reviewers mentioned getting too little meat on their sandwich, while I always find that there's a little too much tuna salad on mine, if I don't ask for them to go light. So just watch them as they make the sandwich and ask for more/less if you want it. Other than that, the food is always fresh, and the salads are pretty good with par-for-the-course prices. I also like their mini breakfast sandwiches, and the rewards program saves me $2.50 once or twice a week.
I really enjoy their Mandarin chicken salad.
If you're downtown and looking for a quick sandwich or salad, this is the place to go. Friendly staff, decently quick turnaround (It's made right in front of you, so do temper your expectations!) and generally very fresh food. The soups are good though can sometimes be a bit oily. They also have a good selection of drinks, chips, as well as grab and go options.
Better than a fast food burger for sure but not better than say a Red Robin's burger. Salads are great as well. Can be a pretty long line during lunch rushes but set up is very organized so the wait isn't unresonable unless you only have 30mins.
Rafi y Jasmin son perfecto. The sandwich, was the best I ever had, and Rafi’s salads were amazing. Coming from New York, I haven’t met a genuine deli like theirs, everyone reading this needs to stop by and ask for Rafi or Jas, you won’t regret it 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
Super fast, affordable and convenient. The staff are super friendly, and make sure that you're taken care of.
Expensive for a very basic sandwich.
Great place to grab lunch
We went down a block from the Executive Pacific hotel. We wanted an unpretentious breakfast, but we missed it by a few minutes and opted for a club on a croissant and a super food (kale and quinoa) salad. Seems like a local place, which is what I want. Can't spend all of you meals at fancy places on vacation! There's a cute dining room/cafeteria attached with white wire tables and chairs.
Went there for the first time today expecting good things based on google reviews... But the food and service were not up to bar.. The person making my sandwich was pretty rude to me for asking questions, as it was my first time there... and then the sandwich basically only had one slice of turkey on it. Convenient but not convenient enough to make up for the “ok” service and lack of proper portions. Also their soup is very salty.
Very popular lunch spot, always crowded unless it's Friday when people work from home. I got the veggie sandwich today and was able to put avovado, hummus, lettuce, tomato, spouts, pickles, cucumbers, and cheese on it! So delicious!
Love "number one" salad really good kale salad
Just hasn't been the same since they stopped selling burgers.
The place is inside some businesses plaza, and it’s a small cafe that sells foods “to-go”. You can choose a very simple hot breakfast, or salad, or sandwich.
Mel's Market is a great location for lunch but beware of the massive lunch crowd. You'll find the rush starts at 11:45-12-30. If you come before or after those times, you can find shorter lines. To avoid the lines, order online but if you want to sub an item in the salad, the website is not your choice. Hopefully that is resolved at a later date.
I always prefer this place for healthy meal. They have different type of salad and sandwich in their menu. Highly recommend it
Great place for food
